Entry Requirements and Application Procedure

Entry Requirements:

The European Politics Master's program is open to students holding a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in the social sciences (political science, International Relations, European studies, and related disciplines, including history, law, economics, etc.) or the humanities from a recognized institution of higher education. Applicants must have a good command of the English language. Please find the full contact details in the left menu.

  

Application Procedure:

Applicants should submit the following:

1. Complete application form

ONLINE in Masaryk University information system (online form is active from 1 Feb-30 April for fall semester admission, and 1 Sept-30 Nov for spring semester admission: select European Politics)

and fill in the application form in text file: [Microsoft Word]

2. Curriculum Vitae.

3. Academic records of the applicant (*):

a) A copy of the applicant's Bachelor's diploma, or documentation indicating that the applicant will receive such a diploma by the time of enrolling in the program, in the original language, stamped and signed by the authorized university office or by a notary public official. Diplomas whose original language is not English or Czech should be accompanied by an official English language translation, stamped and signed by a translating company or an authorized university office.

b) A copy of the final transcript (the record of courses and grades) in the original language, stamped and signed by the authorized university office or by a notary public official. Transcripts whose original language is not English or Czech should be accompanied by an official English language translation, stamped and signed by a translating company or an authorized university office.

4. Statement of purpose (approximately 500 words), outlining the applicant's intellectual history and presenting his/her motivation in applying to this program.

 

N.B. Unless otherwise indicated, all application materials should be in English.

  

(*) In order to enroll in the European Politics program, applicants holding degrees issued by universities outside the Czech Republic will need to obtain an official document confirming that their degree can be recognized in the Czech Republic. Consult Prior Degrees section for details.

  

Deadlines:

Applicants who wish to enroll in the Fall semester: the deadline for applications is April 30. 

Applicants who wish to enroll in the Fall semester and do not need to arrange visa or residence permit for the Czech Republic and have already completed the Degree Recognition procedure: applications can be accepted by September 1 (of the same year).

Applicants who wish to enroll in the Spring semester: the deadline for applications is November 30 (non-visa applicants: February 1). 

   

NOTE: The online forms are active between February 1 - April 30 for fall semester admissions, and between September 1 - November 30 for spring semester admissions. However, your documents can be reviewed and evaluated throughout the year; whenever the online application form is open, we will ask you to submit it. Applicants who want to get a preliminary acceptance letter for IVF grant support, should send all or most of the above mentioned materials (except the online form) by November deadline, even if they are applying for the next September intake. Later on, regular admission procedure can be completed.
